About the project
Mall of Taif Heart opened in 2006 in central Taif, next to the historic Shubra Palace. It covers more than 90,000 m² and has more than 450 shops, an ice rink and a bowling centre. It connects to the Taif Heart Tower, home of the 30-floor, 266-unit Awaliv International Hotel, classified five-star in 2010.
Why fire and life safety matter in this complex
The complex joins crowded shopping and leisure floors with a hotel tower where guests sleep. Hundreds of shops carry a heavy, changing fire load, and in a building this large smoke is the main threat to escape. Smoke control keeps routes clear, sprinklers fed by fire pumps hold a fire at its origin, and a coordinated alarm supports orderly, zoned evacuation. The Saudi Building Code (SBC 801) and Civil Defense requirements govern the system.
