Honda – Abdullah Hashim Co.
Honda facilities of Abdullah Hashim Co. Ltd., Honda's exclusive agent in Saudi Arabia, fitted by AZEIDK with fire protection, alarm and security systems.
About the project
The client behind this project is Abdullah Hashim Co. Ltd., the exclusive agent for all Honda products in Saudi Arabia, a range that covers cars and motorcycles as well as marine engines, generators, water pumps and agricultural machinery. The company is headquartered in Jeddah and has automotive and machinery divisions. Its work with Honda Motor Co. of Japan goes back more than half a century, to a partnership begun by Soichiro Honda and Sheikh Abdullah Hashim. In 2017 its network comprised 20 Honda dealerships plus 31 sub-dealers across the Kingdom.
Why fire and life safety matter in vehicle dealerships
Dealerships bring customers into spaces that hold vehicles, engines and power equipment containing fuel, oils and batteries. Where showrooms sit alongside workshops or parts stores, lubricants, tyres and packaging add to the fuel load, and some maintenance tasks involve heat sources. Open-plan showrooms let smoke spread quickly, so early detection, suitable fire-fighting coverage and clear exits for customers and staff are essential. Security systems matter too, because high-value stock stays on site outside opening hours. Civil Defense requirements and the Saudi Building Code (SBC 801) set the framework for these systems.
AZEIDK’s role
AZEIDK worked on Abdullah Hashim Co.’s Honda facilities, carrying out the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of fire protection, alarm and security systems according to project requirements.
