SigTEL master controllers let operators communicate with disabled refuge and fire telephone outstations. The ECU-4 and ECU-16 include a semi-recessed handset; the ECU-8NT has no handset and suits networked systems that do not need multiple control points.
All three facilitate compliance with BS 5839-9 when correctly installed, and can be networked into systems of up to 224 lines with optional desk controllers.
Key features:
• 4, 8 or 16 lines; networkable up to 224 lines.
• Backlit LCD and auto-learn facility for fast set-up.
• Semi-flush mounting with a bezel.
• 24 hours standby and 3 hours in use on 2 × 12V 7Ah batteries.
• Interfaces to NC951 accessible toilet alarms, induction loop systems, strobes and CCTV relays.
• Fail-safe change-over fault relay, 30V 1A.
• Open-collector outputs for ringing, toilet alarm call and handset off-hook.
Electrical data:
• Mains supply: 230V 50/60Hz, 500mA.
• Internal supply: 19–28.5V (27V nominal); total output limited to 1.5A.
• Quiescent current: 100mA plus 1mA per Type A and 3.2mA per Type B outstation.
Typical applications:
• Disabled refuge areas and fire-fighting telephone systems in multi-storey buildings.
