Victaulic FireLock V27 K5.6 Fire Sprinklers – V2703, V2704, V2707 and V2708

Victaulic FireLock V27 sprinklers are K5.6 automatic fire sprinklers available in upright, pendent and recessed-pendent configurations, with both standard-response and quick-response options.

Quick-response models use a faster-response thermal element and must be selected according to the applicable listing and occupancy requirements.

Operation:

The sprinkler uses a glass bulb filled with heat-sensitive fluid.

When ambient temperature reaches the sprinkler’s rated temperature:

• Fluid inside the bulb expands.
• The glass bulb breaks.
• The sealing assembly releases.
• Water begins to discharge.
• The deflector distributes water according to the sprinkler orientation.
• Upright models distribute water upward and outward.
• Pendent models distribute water downward over the protected area.

Discharge Coefficient:

• K-factor: 5.6 GPM/psi½.
• Nominal S.I. K-factor: 8.1.
• When pressure is measured in bar, the catalogue states that the S.I. value is multiplied by 10.
• Approximate metric K-factor: 81 LPM/bar½.

Nominal Orifice:

• 1/2 inch.
• 13 mm.

Installation Requirements:

• Install V2703 and V2704 only in the upright orientation.
• Install V2707 and V2708 only in the pendent orientation.
• V2707 and V2708 may be installed as recessed pendent.
• Use only the compatible installation tool.
• Do not apply force to the glass bulb or deflector.
• Follow NFPA or FM obstruction and spacing requirements.
• Fully depressurize and drain the piping before installation or removal.
• Do not field paint, plate or recoat the sprinkler.
• Do not install a damaged sprinkler or one with a cracked bulb.
• Follow the Style V9 installation instructions when using IGS.
• Use a compatible escutcheon for recessed installation.
