تفاصيل المنتج

نظرة عامة على المنتج

SAFEGUARD BIOSOLV C6 AFFF-6% in a 200-liter drum is an aqueous film-forming foam concentrate designed to extinguish and secure fires involving non-polar hydrocarbon fuels.

The concentrate is proportioned at 6%, using six parts foam concentrate with 94 parts fresh water or seawater through properly calibrated proportioning equipment.

The foam spreads over the fuel surface and forms a thin aqueous film that suppresses flammable vapors. A stable foam blanket separates the fuel from oxygen, while water released from the bubbles cools the surface and helps reduce re-ignition.

The product is supplied in a cylindrical 200-liter HDPE drum, making it suitable for larger fixed fire-protection systems, fuel-storage facilities, petrochemical sites, power stations, warehouses and marine applications.

How AFFF Works:

Aqueous Film:

The foam forms a thin film over the fuel surface to suppress flammable vapors.

Foam Blanket:

A stable foam blanket separates the fuel from oxygen and helps prevent re-ignition.

Cooling Effect:

Water released from the foam bubbles cools the fuel surface and reduces the energy needed for continued combustion.

Proportioning Ratio:

• 6 parts foam concentrate.
• 94 parts water.
• Fresh water or seawater.
• Use properly calibrated proportioning equipment.

Typical Properties:

Appearance:

• Amber color.

pH:

• 6 to 8.5.

Viscosity:

• 200 cSt maximum.

Specific Gravity:

• 1.02 ± 0.02.

Sludge Content:

• 0.5% maximum.

Expansion:

• 6 to 10.

25% Drainage Time:

• Greater than 90 seconds.

Film Forming Test:

• Greater than zero according to the data sheet.

Fire Performance According to UL 162:2018:

• Fire extinction: ≤ 3 minutes.
• Torch test: Passes.
• Burn-back resistance: ≥ 5 minutes.

Fire Performance According to ICAO Level-C:

• Fire extinction: ≤ 1 minute.
• Burn-back resistance: ≥ 5 minutes.

• Crude oil.
• Petrol.
• Diesel.
• Kerosene.
• Heptane.
• Other non-polar hydrocarbon fuels.
• Wood.
• Paper.
• Selected plastics.

Typical Areas of Application:

• Fuel storage tanks.
• Petrochemical facilities.
• Process areas.
• Power stations.
• Fuel warehouses.
• Fuel stations.
• Aviation-fuel facilities according to approved design.
• Marine terminals.
• Offshore platforms.
• Hydrocarbon transport and storage areas.

• Bladder tanks with ratio flow controllers.
• Around-the-pump proportioners.
• Fixed in-line venturi proportioners.
• Portable in-line venturi proportioners.
• Hand-line nozzles with fixed eductors or pick-up tubes.

Storage and Handling:

• Store in a dry and well-ventilated location.
• Do not expose the drum directly to sunlight.
• Preferably stack HDPE containers in a single layer.
• Do not exceed two stacked layers.
• Recommended storage temperature: 0°C to 49°C.
• Keep the drum tightly closed.
• Protect the drum from puncture or impact.
• Use suitable handling equipment for a 200-liter package.

Bulk Storage:

The concentrate may be transferred into bulk storage tanks for long-term storage, provided that:

• The tank is kept as full as practical.
• A 5% to 10% expansion space is maintained.
• The inlet is positioned near the tank base to reduce foaming.
• The outlet is positioned above the base to reduce blockage from sediment.

Suitable Storage-Tank Materials:

• Mild steel with internal epoxy coating.
• Stainless steel.
• Compatible GRP.
• High-density polyethylene.

Safety Instructions:

• Do not use on energized electrical fires.
• Do not use on chemicals that react dangerously with water.
• Avoid eye and skin contact.
• Avoid ingestion.
• Use sealed safety goggles.
• Use PVC, nitrile or butyl-rubber gloves.
• Use suitable protective clothing and boots.
• Prevent discharge into groundwater, surface water or storm drains.
• Dispose of waste according to applicable regulations.

Packaging:

• Capacity: 200 liters.
• Container: HDPE.
• Shape: Cylindrical.
• Approximate diameter: 595 mm.
• Approximate height: 915 mm.

Approvals and Standards Mentioned:

• UL Listed.
• UL 162:2018.
• ICAO Level-C.

Important Notes:

Maintain the correct 6% proportioning ratio and do not use the concentrate undiluted.

Confirm compatibility with the fuel, system and discharge equipment before use.

This page covers the 200-liter package only, although the catalogue also includes 20-liter and 30-liter containers.

The product is intended primarily for non-polar hydrocarbon fuels and is not automatically suitable for water-miscible polar solvents.
